Youth Trap Shooter C. J. Homuth
Trap Shooting as with
any organized sport, having enough money is one of the most important
components of success. This sport is no different than any other
extracurricular activity; youth football, baseball, scouts, or band.
All have different types of fundraising programs. Not only is this
web site for fundraising, but, may be I can inspire another young
person to try trapshooting or an adult to introduce a young adult
to the sport of trapshooting.
I am a 14 year old that has been trapshooting
for 4 1/2years. I mainly shoot at McHenry Sportsmen's Club
in Johnsburg, Illinois on the weekends. My ammunition supply
governs how much I am able to shoot. I am a junior member of the
NRA (National Rifle Association), and the ATA (Amateur Trapshooting
Association). I am classified as Expert by the NRA Marksmanship
Qualification program, and have passed the Illinois Hunter Safety
Education Program.
I shot 25X25 for the first time at Darien Sporting Goods in Darien,
Wisconsin, in 2003. In November 2003, I shot 25X25 three times,
and 48X50 once.
I won the sub - junior winter trapshooting league at McHenry Sportsmen
Club. I came in third at the Illinois State Shoot for 200 targets
from the 16 yard line, in 2004. April 2005 at St. Charles Gun Club
I won 1st Place Sub-Jr. Class and received a fine money clip with
the ATA logo on it.
My 2004 16 yard ATA average was 88X100. This year 90x100. I have
shot 25X25 eight times. In March 2004, I shot 50x50 for the first
time, and 97x100 twice March of this year. I am using new equipment
and a shooting program called Shoot Where You Look sm,
a program developed by Leon Measures. This program is a must buy
for anyone interested in the shooting sports, in my opinion.
When I am not Trap Shooting you can find me with my friends shooting
Paintball.
I shot my first 25 straight, 2 years ago at Darien Sporting Goods
in Darien, Wisconsin. In the month of November 2003 I made 25 straight
3 times and missing 50 straight by just 2. Well now I try not to
count targets, because it messes up concentration. This is when
you try to reach the next level, the mind game of trapShooting.
